IBPS PO III Result Analysis

Published on Monday, December 09, 2013
As so many readers are asking same question "Do I have a chance". Many commented that anybody who score less than 80 don't have any chance. I don't know why people are so pessimist. 57000 candidates are provisionally selected. Normally there is 20% rate of absenteeism. At least 10% candidates are rejected on the grounds of insufficient documents and for scoring less than minimum marks. After allotment 20-25% don't join. So top 30,000 will get joining letter.

This time there will be more vacancies than last year because last year many candidates in second list didn't join. Average number of candidates who don't join is 20%.

I have explained this process with the help of following diagram.

I don't post analysis of reserved category candidates as it leads to racist comments from readers. Our Government is wise enough to take these kind of decisions and even people like Arwind Kejriwal never spoke on this issue, so I assume that he is also happy with this reservation system. So no further comment from my side. I have a bad experience about this issue, will share my experience in my next post.

If you see the above flowchart deeply, it states that selection ratio is 3:4, which is really high. Candidates who scored 75+ need just passing marks in the interview and candidates with 70+ marks and have a good profile, consistent academic performance and work experience in a good company also need just passing marks in interview.

All of you don't be pessimist, just 10-15% candidates scored more than 80 and there is high rate of absenteeism among these candidates and further large number of these candidates don't join because they have many other better opportunities in their pocket. I have seen many teachers and people preparing for civil services appears for bank exams just to have exam experience. There is no way that these people will join. I am also one of them and I know at least a dozen of people who are not going to join.

Best of luck and start your interview preparations. Read How to prepare for IBPS interview and Frequently asked questions in IBPS interviews.
