Solutions

1.   Total number of Non-fiction and GK books sold byStores C= 88500*(20/100)*15/30= 17700*15/30=8850 (1)
Total number of Non-fiction and GK books sold by Stores E= 88500*(25/100)= 14750*18/27= 14750 (2)
Total number of Non-fiction and GK books sold by Stores C and Etogether= (1) + (2) =23,600 (A)
Number of Fiction and GK Books sold by Store A, B, and D
A= 17700*15/20= 13275
B= 26550*8/15= 14160
D= 13275*9/15= 7965
Total= 13275+14160+7965= 35,400
Difference between the number of Fiction and GK Books sold by Store A, B, and D together and the number of Non-fiction and GK books sold by Stores C and E= 35,400-23600= 11,800. (B)
Percentage= (B/A)*100= (11,800/23600)*100= 50%
2. Average number of Fiction and GK Books sold by Store A, B, and D together
= Total/3
=35400/3= 11,800
Total number of books sold by Stores C, D, and E= 10%+15%+25% of total sales
= 50% of 88,500
= 44,250
Percentage= (11800/44250)*100= 26.67%
3. Non-fiction sold by
A= (5/20)*20% of 88500= 4425
B= (7/15)*30% of 88500= 12390
C= (8/30)*10% of 88500= 2360
D= (6/15)*15% of 88500= 5310
E= (8/27)*25% of 88500= 6556 (Appox)
Answer is B,D and E= 3 stores

4. Total business of C=Rs.120,360
Total number of books sold by Store C= 10% of 88500= 8850
Number of fiction= (15/30)*8850= 4425 (Total Cost= 4425*Rs.15.50= Rs.68587.5 (1)
Number of non-fiction= (8/30)*8850= 2360(Total Cost= Unknown) (2)
Number of GK books= (7/30)*8850= 2065(Total Cost= 2065*Rs.12.50= Rs.25812.5 (3)
Total Cost of non-fiction= Total business-(1)-(3)
Rs.120,360-Rs.68587.5-Rs.25812.5= 25960
(Total Cost of non-fiction /Number of non-fiction)= Price per copy= 25960/2360= Rs. 11

5. Price of fiction and non-fiction is increased by 10%
Now fiction will cost Rs. 17.05, non-fiction Rs.12.1, and GK Rs.12.5 (Unchanged)
Total business of C will be equal to (4425*17.05 + 2360*12.1 + 2065*12.5)
= RS. 129,814.75
