Why you Failed in every Competitive Exam ?

Published on Friday, March 07, 2014
Everyday dozens of people ask me same question - "Sir I am appearing for bank and other many exams but I always fail. I have completed my syllabus many time and practice question papers daily. Can you guide me ? "

In this post I am going to tell the reason as well as solution to the the problem.

Inaccurate study material

Do own an "All-in One" book covering all sections. If yes, this book is the culprit behind your failure. Never buy books from unknown publishers just because you wanted to save money and need a book that covers all the sections. Those few hundred rupees could save you.

There is no excuse to hard work. You should read at least one book for section. 4-5 years back these books were helpful but now cutoffs are really high and they going to be higher. So I highly recommend you to change your study material.

I have already shared

Lack of practice

Nowadays most of the banks and PSU conducts online exams whereas many candidates practice paper-pen test papers. I use to recommend practice books but now I don't. I found many of my students were not able to read quickly and they were not comfortable with a online test. This was the sole reason I created TestPanda.com

I recommend you to join Testpanda.com

Wrong Strategies

Are you against sectional cutoffs because you fail every-time because of sectional cutoffs. If yes, then there is some problem in you strategy to tackle a exam. If you are weak in Quantitative aptitude then you should devote more time to this, this is not an excuse.

Many students ask me how to allocate time to various sections. Answers is - It depends upon your capabilities.

Must read - Strategies for IBPS exams

Aspirations

IBPS PO III cutoff was just 61. Anybody who got 70+ will surely get the job.  How many questions did you attempted ?

Most of the candidates attempted 130+ questions and they made stupid guesses in more than 50 questions. Result is - All of them scored less than 50.

If similar things happened to you in past, then practice few sample tests and judge your capabilities. Everybody have different IQs so there is nothing like "Ideal Attempt". Attempt few online sample papers and judge yourself because nobody knows you better than you.

Bookish way of solving questions

The way questions are solved in exams and they solved in books are totally different. In books, author tries to explain every step in depth whereas in exams you need to solve questions using shortcuts and need not to find exact answers.

I have released my DVDs, you can get that here to learn all the shortcuts.
