SBI PO 2014 - Exam Experience on 14 June

Published on Sunday, June 15, 2014
In a series of providing last day tips and exam strategies for SBI PO exam, today I am publishing exam experiences of two more readers who appeared for the exam.

Srinjoy Guha from Barasat

I am sharing my experience of SBI PO 2014 for candidates who are going to appear.

Name: SRINJOY GUHA

Qualification: Final year student of B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

Date of examination: 14.06.2014, 08:00 AM

How easy it was to locate and reach your examination center:
The center was in a remote area in Barasat; finding it was not difficult except the transport communication was poor and hence it made
difficulties for candidates for reaching or coming back from there.

What was the difficulty level of exam:

Reasoning, General Awareness were moderate. English was easy enough to answer, even for those candidates who are from Bengali background in medium of their study. Data interpretation portion was tougher than expected. It was laborious too. Descriptive test was very easy, a moderate knowledge about the current happenings is enough to answer those. I am just giving an approx. rating of difficulty level to each section as follows: English: 5/10, General Awareness (With marketing aptitude and computer knowledge): 7/10, Data interpretation: 8.5/10, Reasoning: 7.5/10, Descriptive test: 7/10.

How many questions you attempted:

I have attempted 106 question in total in the objective test.

Which unexpected things you noticed during the exam:
Data interpretation section is tougher than it was in the previous years paper. Being an engineer, mathematical problems seemed to be easy and entertaining for me, but it was not good experience at all. About SBI PO Exam, the exam started from 09:00 AM but the admit card said it was 08:00 AM so we had to wait for an hour more in that extremely hot and sunny day.

Which section was relatively tough:
I have already mentioned it, Data interpretation part.

Anything you want to share:
Time management is the biggest key to crack this exam, the more correct you can manage to answer the greater chance you have to be called for further selection. However solving 200 questions in 120 minutes is not easy if you do not do enough practice.

Chezhiyan from Tamilnadu

This is me, Chezhiyan from Tamilnadu. Seriously i attempt the first banking exam is SBI PO. In my point of view, DI was so touch, some of the questions are bind with S.I & C.I. Then English section was not so touch,i could say as medium level. Then GK & CK part was easy, anyone can answer who are reading newspaper daily basis Reasoning part was also not much difficult but it was tricky.

I attempted only 91 questions.

DI-9

English-27

Reasoning-18

GK-37

Descriptive paper was also simple if we are good at English.

Its a great experience for me as a beginner,

Finally Ramandeep singh marketing notes helped me to answer such marketing based questions too.

Anmol Ahuja from Bhopal

1. Location of exam center

My center was only 2 km from my home. So no problem there.

2. Difficulty level of exam

GA - really was easy I attempted 43

Reasoning - bit time consuming seating arrangement single row was tough but coded inequalities, input-output and syllogism was easy i attempted 35.

DI - Tough even i was preparing for it but really lengthy i only attempted 25. All DI nothing else.

English - moderate 2 passage 1 moderate and other somewhat difficult. I attempted 40.

Descriptive - Bit difficult. my precise was spoiled because i panicked other than that it was okay.

3. Strange things you noticed

There is one strange thing i noticed that they were write from the beginning were saying that don't leave your mouse in dormant state for long or screen saver will pop-up it'll take time to restart your test again. This really happened with a boy in last minutes of exam.

4. Suggestion

Really prepare 4 DI and practice more and more questions of seating arrangements. Give equal amount of time to all sections.
