Sports
- On 29th August, i.e. the birth anniversary of former Hockey Player Dhayan Chand, National Sports Day celebrated throughout the country. Dhyan Chand is also known as the Hockey Magician.
- The new International Hockey Stadium inaugurated in Raipur on the eve of National Sports Day. This is the 2nd International Hockey Stadium established in the State of Chhattisgarh, the first one was in Rajnandgaon.
Politics
- The state of Maharashtra will form the Transgender Welfare Board. Maharashtra will become 2nd state of India to form the Transgender Welfare Board. The first one was Tamil Nadu.
- Sivaramakrishnan Committee submitted its report to the Union Home Ministry on the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The committee was recently constituted to sugest the place to build the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. The Chairman of this committee is K. Sivaramakrishnan.
- The Governor of Manipur Shri Vinod Kumar Duggal resigned. Formerly, he was the member-Secretary of Srikrishna Committee, the committee was constituted on the issue of new formed state of Telangana.
- The Cabinet of Delhi made mandatory instructions to wear the helmets for women on two wheelers.
- Till now, NDA Government of India laid down the many foundation stones to provide hassle free services to Indians. In the near future, the Indian Government can start MyGov.in programme. Under this programme the educational certificates, residential documents and other necessary documents will be stored in the individual ‘digital lockers’. After the inauguration of this programme, all the Indians can free from harassment suffered by them in the government offices.

- Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) launched the new application for all the Black Berry Smartphone users. With this application, all the BlackBerry Smartphone users can book the train tickets on their phones.
