- Bangladesh and Timor-Leste awarded with South East Asia Award for Excellence in Public Health by World Health Organization.

- European Union imposed new economic sanctions on Russia over Ukraine. Sanctions also put on Sergei Chemezov, the Chairman of Rostec which is defence and industrial group including arms supplier Rosobornoexport.
- According to the UNICEF’s report released recently, Bangladesh has the highest rate of child marriages under the age of 5 during the period of years 2000 to 2012 while India placed at 2nd place. The title of the report is “Improving Children’s Lives, Transforming the Future – 25 years of Child Rights in South Asia”.

- Jitendra Chandra Paul, the renowned Journalist died on 11th September 2014. He also wrote 12 books.

- Warren Harris appointed as MD and CEO of Tata Technologies Ltd.
- Narendra Ambwani appointed as Chairman of Advertising Standards Council of India, the Council is a self regulatory voluntary organization of the advertising industry.
