Politics

  • Xi Jinping, President of China arrived at Ahmedabad, India for 3 days official visit. Three MoUs signed between the countries are : 
  1. MoU to establish Sister Province relations 
  2. MoU on cooperation between the local authorities of two cities i.e. Guangzhou and Ahmedabad. 
  3. MoU between Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb) and China Development Bank 
  • $105mn granted by the World Bank Group for Ebola Emergency Response Project to fight Ebola. 
  • Anti-terror Bill approved by the Parliament of France to prevent Jihadists from travelling to Iraq, Syria or elsewhere by confiscating their passports. 
  • According to report released by UN, India has the highest number of neonatal deaths in all over the World during the year 2012. 

Awards and Books

  • Naseeruddin Shah, the famous Bollywood Actor wrote the autobiography namely ‘And Then One Day:A Memoir’. 

Appointments

  • Leonardo DiCaprio (Full Name Leonardo Wilhelm DiCarpio) appointed as UN Messenger of Peace while UN Secretary General is Ban Ki-moon. 
  • Kaushik Basu, an Indian economist and Chief Economist of World Bank, appointed as President-elect of International Economic Association. He became 2nd Indian after Amartya Sen who join International Economic Association. 

Business and Economy

  • IIM Bangalore launched the portal ‘www.iboughtproperty.com’ to promote transparency in the real estate.
