Science and Technology
- Mangalyan, Mars Orbiter Mission of India successfully entered the Martian orbit. With this achievement, India became 1st country to insert the spacecraft of the mission around the mars.
Appointments
- Hardeep Singh Puri, Former IFS Officer appointed as Secretary General of Independent Commission on Multilateralism (ICM). The Chairman of ICM is Kevin Rudd, former Prime Minister of Australia.
- V.G. Mathew appointed as MD and CEO of South Indian Bank replaced with V.A. Joseph. Hereby, it is very important to know you that all the Bank appointments made under Section 35-B of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
- Amit Mathew appointed as Chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), the ABC is a non-profit circulation-auditing organization to certify and audit the circulations of publications published in newspapers and magazines in India.

- National Academy for Athletics and National Golf Academy inaugurated by Union Ministry of Sports in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerela on 22nd September 2014 which will provide training to junior and senior athletes. India will participate in the upcoming Olympics in the year 2016 which will be held in Brazil.

- The Government of Andhra Pradesh enhanced the upper age limit upto 40 years instead of 34 years in government services from 30th September 2016 onwards.

- World Green Building Week organised by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation during the period 22nd September 2014 to 27th September 2014 in around 100 countries under the theme ‘Get Up, Green Up’. DMRC has taken this step to promote the construction of environment-friendly buildings with its partner Indian Green Building Council.

- Royal Mint of Britain launched its own online trading service for Gold coins. Royal Mint is the body permitted to manufacture or mint the coins for United Kingdom.
- Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited signed an agreement with Indus Towers called Master Services Agreement however Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited sharing agreement with GTL Infrastructure Limited (a telecom tower company) recently.
- Yahoo Inc. acquired startup firm BookPad Inc., the Bengaluru based startup firm. Yahoo Inc. is an American multinational Internet Corporation. The CEO of Yahoo Inc. is Marissa Mayer and it is founded in the year 1994.
- New name of MCX Stock Exchange (MCX-SX) i.e. Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India (mSXI) approved by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Deaths
- Anandji Dossa (full name Anandji Jamnadas Dossa), the former Indian Cricket Statistician died on 22nd September 2014. The collections are preserved by BCCI under the name Anandji Dossa Library collected by him in various years. He also did live scoring for cricket matches of India on All India Radio.
