- Former Cricket players Sachin Tendulkar of India and Steve Waugh of Australia selected for honour with Bradman Honouree. The Honour organised by the Bradman Foundation.
Politics
- Swachh Bharat Mission approved by the Government of India. The mission will begin from 2nd October 2014 onwards and will be implemented for next 5 years. The basic aim of the mission is to strengthen the urban local bodies to design and operate systems to fulfill the objectives. The mission will cover about 4041 towns of all over the country.
- Madhya Pradesh, the only Diamond producing State in India will host the Global Investors Summit 2014 which will be held during the period 08th October 2014 to 10th October 2014 under the theme ‘Invest Madhya Pradesh’.
- 25th September declared as ‘Antyodya Diwas’ by the Government of India to mark the 98th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, famous philosopher and political activist.
- The Campaign ‘Make In India’ launched by Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to make India a manufacturing hub. The basic aim of this campaign is to attract all the foreign companies to set the manufacturing units in India.

- Rajat Sharma, the Chairman and Editor-in-chief of famous news TV Channel ‘INDIA TV’ appointed as President of News Broadcasting Association replaced with K.V.L. Narayan Rao. News Broadcasting Association is a private association of news television broadcasters of India.
- Suresh Prabhu (full name Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu) selected as Sherpa for Prime Minister Narendra Modi for G-20 Summit which will be held in Brisbane, Australia during the period 15th November 2014 to 16th November 2014. Suresh Prabhu was the Member of Parliament of 14th Lok Sabha.
