Current Affairs update for today :-


  • PM Narendra Modi announced life time visa for PIO card holder NRIs.
  • Prithviraj Chavan, 22nd Chief Minister of Maharashtra resigned due to withdrawal of support of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) that supported Congress because the dispute of seat sharing in the upcoming Assembly elections in the State. 
  • 30% reduction in salt intake recommended by World Health Organization (WHO) on the eve of World Heart Day i.e. observed on 29th September. 

Business and Economy

  • India’s one of the largest public sector banks i.e. State Bank of India announced to sign the Line of Credit of $500 million with Exim Bank (Export Import Bank) in South Korea. 


  • Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Awards 2014 announced on the eve of 72nd Foundation Day of Council for Scientific & Industrial Research i.e. on 26th September 2014. Total 10 Scientists are decided to honour with Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award. 


  • Yogeshwar Dutt became 2nd Indian Wrestler to win a Gold Medal at Asian Games in Men’s 65 kg freestyle event after defeating Zalimkhan Yusupov of Tajikistan. The first one Wrestler was Kartar Singh who won Gold Medal in Asian Games in the year 1986 which was also held in Seoul, South Korea. 
  • Leander Paes and Marcin Matkowski won Malaysian Open Double title after defeating Jamie Murray and John Peers. 


  • H.L. Dattu (full name Handyala Lakshminarayanaswamy Dattu) became 42nd Chief Justice of India after the retirement of R.M. Lodha (Rajendra Mal Lodha). R.M. Lodha remained Chief Justice of India for about 5 months.
