Sports

  • Sania Mirza won mixed doubles Grand Slam title. This is her 3rd Grand Slam title. Sania Mirza played this match with her Brazilian partner Bruno Soares and defeated Yung-Jan Chan and Briton Ross Hutchins.
  • Ritu Rani will be the Captain of Indian Women’s Hockey Team for upcoming Asian Games 2014 which will going to be organized in South Korea during the period 19th September to 04th October 2014.

  • Joan Rivers, the famous actress and comedian of United States of America died on 04th September 2014. She was known for her stand-up comedy and she awarded with Daytime Emmy Award for his outstanding show ‘The Joan Rivers Show’.

  • Bharti Airtel launched Wynk Music application for Android and iOS. Bharti Airtel is the largest mobile operator in India.
  • Samsung, the famous electronics company unveiled the first Android-powered printers for office use in IFA 2014 Expo in Germany.

  • V. Nagarajan appointed as the Director of Indraprastha Gas Ltd., the company is a joint venture of GAIL (India) Ltd. and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.

  • Tony Abott, the Prime Minister of Australia launched the New Colombo Plan to enhance the students exchange between the Universities of two countries i.e. India and Australia. 14 other memorandums of understanding (MOUs) signed between the Universities.
  • Indo-Nepal military exercise concluded jointly namely ‘Surya Kiran VII’. This is 7th time military exercise between the countries, the first one was started in the year 2011.
