- United States of America won FIBA Basketball World CUP 2014 after defeating Serbia.
Deaths
- Yoshiko Yamaguchi, the famous and old film actress of Japan, died. She was one of the biggest and old film stars during and after World War-II. She acted in famous Hollywood films like Japanese War Bride and House of Bamboo etc.
- Kireet Joshi, the educationist died on 14th September 2014. He was an Education Adviser in Government of India in the year 1976.
Politics
- Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) issued a report that floods occurred recently in Jammu and Kashmir have caused loss of near about 5700 Crore Rupees to the economy of State. This is the largest flood in Jammu and Kashmir in last 60 years.
- On 14th September, Hindi Divas celebrated in all over India. The day celebrated annually to promote the Mother Tongue of India i.e. Hindi. It is hereby important to mention that Hindi is 4th most spoken language in the World.
- National AYUSH Mission get approval from the Government of India to find gaps in health services.
Business and Economy
- Reserve Bank of India closed six Urban Cooperative Banks under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. The banks suspected of being used to route illegal money.
- According to the data released by the Government of India, 3.74% inflation recorded based on Wholesale Price Index during the last 5 years.
