- Bibi Prakash Kaur, sister of Shaheed Bhagat Singh died on 28th September 2014 i.e. birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
Politics
- Cage Culture technique of fish farming introduced by the State Government of Himachal Pradesh which will be helpful for the people of rural areas in the State.
- Jayalalithaa Jayaram, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu convicted for 4 years by the Special Court in Bengaluru in disproportionate of assets and also fined with Rs.100 Crore. She became the first Chief Minister of any State of India who be convicted in a disproportionate assets during his/her tenure. She was 2nd woman Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the first one was Janaki Ramachandran. She was led to party ‘All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’ (AIADMK).
- On 27th September 2014, Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi addressed United Nations General Assembly session in Hindi Language in New York which was 69th in number. He became the 2nd Prime Minister of India after Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee who addressed UNGA in Hindi Language.
- O. Panneerselvam became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for 2nd time. Earlier, he became Chief Minister of the State during the period 2001 to 2002.
- Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai sworn in as the President of Afghanistan succeeded by Hamid Karzai.
- On 24th September 2014, India Food Park inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in Tumkur, Karnataka.
- Komagata Maru incident completed 100 years on 27th September 2014. On the same day i.e. on 27th September 1914, the bunch of Indians reached Calcutta (now Kolkata) on Japanese steamship namely Komagata Maru.

- Seema Punia won Gold Medal in 17th Asian Games in women’s Discus Throw of 61.03m.
