Politics
- During the official visit of Prime Minister of Australia, he returned two most important stolen idols of India related near about the 11th century.Two stolen idols are ‘Nataraja’ and ‘The Dancing Shiva’.
- North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) also called North Atlantic Alliance Summit 2014 held in United Kingdom. The next NATO summit 2016 will be held in Poland.
- World Health Organization released its first global report on the suicide prevention before one week of World Suicide Prevention day i.e. on 10th September. The basic aim of this report is that to increase the awareness of suicide among the people.
- South Africa refused to give visa to Dalai Lama third time in the last 5 years. It is important to be noted that 14th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates will be held in South Africa in the next month i.e. October 2014. He is 14th and the current Dalai Lama. His full name is Lhamo Dondrub and is the longest living incumbent.
- During the official visit of Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott, the pact on civil nuclear energy deal was signed between the two countries to open decks for sale of Uranium to India. The other 3 paces were also signed:

- Chandrakala Padia appointed as first women Chairperson of Indian Institute of Advanced Study, the institute established in the year 1964.
- Ravindra Nath appointed as the CMD of National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC), the corporation established in the year 1955 and is working under Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of India.
Sports
- Sudhakar Jayant won Gold Medal at IWF World Masters Weightlifting Championships while Huuskonen Jari of Finland won the Silver Medal. This is his third Gold Medal at IWF World Masters Weightlifting Championships.
- On 7th September 2014, Lewis Hamilton won Italian F1 Grand Prix.
