- S. Bhattacharya appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Coal India on 23rd December 2014 succeeded by A.K. Dubey.
Politics
- National Consumer Rights Day observed in all over India on 24th December 2014. This day provides an opportunity to give the importance of Consumer Movement.
- The Former Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, former President of Indian National Congress will receive Bharat Ratna Awards announced on 24th December by the Government of India. Till now 45 personalities have been received this award.
- Arms Trade Treaty came into force on 24th December 2014 with the aim to regulate the international trade in conventional weapons. Earlier, the treaty adopted by United Nations on 02nd April 2013.
- On 23rd December 2014, China signed an agreement with Nepal to expand the use of currencies for border trade.
- On 23rd December 2014, Afghanistan signed an agreement with Pakistan to coordinate military operations across the border. The agreement signed in the present of NATO US General John Campbell.
Science and Technology
- Tuo Chiang, the largest ever missile warship launched by Taiwan on 23rd December 2014. This is the first ever missile produced by Taiwan.
