UN declared Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's 79th birthday as World Students' Day

  • 15 October will be observed as World Students' Day
  • Father of India's military missile program, died on Monday this week at IIM Shillong.
  • Kalam served as President of India from 2002 to 2007

International Tiger Day observed

  • International Tiger Day observed on 29th July in all over the World. In the year 2010, the day was founded at Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit held in Russia.

World Hepatitis Day observed

  • World Hepatitis Day observed on 28th July in all over the World under the theme of ‘Prevent Hepatitis’. World Hepatitis Summit will take place in September 2015 at Glasgow, Scotland.

Sanjeev Chaturvedi and Anshu Gupta awarded with Ramon Magasaysay Award

  • Two Indians namely Sanjeev Chaturvedi and Anshu Gupta awarded with Ramon Magasaysay Award on 29th July 2015 by Ramon Magasaysay Award Foundation.

  • ‘Windows 10’, the latest edition of Microsoft’s Windows operating system, launched in all over the World on 29th July 2015. The Headquarter of Microsoft is in Redmond, WA, USA.

Saif-al-Islam sentenced to death

  • Saif-al-Islam, the son of former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi and 8 other associates sentenced to death by Libyan Court on 28th July 2015. The President of Libya is Nouri Abusahmain.
