- Kayyara Kinhanna Rai, the freedom fighter, died on 09th August 2015. He was famous author, poet and journalist. He was awarded with Karnataka Sahitya Academy Puraskar in the year 1969 and Karnataka Ekikarana (Unification) Award in the year 2007.
Dilip Parulekar awarded with PATWA-Safari India South Asia Travel Award
- Dilip Parulekar awarded with PATWA-Safari India South Asia Travel Award for the year 2015 on 07th August 2015. He became 1st tourism minister of Goa who receive this award.

- On 07th August 2015, India decided to boycott 61st Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference after Islamabad reiterated not to invite the Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta stating it as "Disputed Territories". The Conference will be held in Islamabad, Pakistan during 30th September to 08th October 2015.
