Bangladesh received funds from UNFCCC


  • Bangladesh became 1st country to receive funds from United Nations for Solar Home Systems on 20th August 2015. UN Framework Convention for Climate Change (UNFCCC) issued 395286 carbon credits to the country.

World Humanitarian Day 2015 observed


  • World Humanitarian Day 2015 observed on 19th August 2015 in all over the World under the theme of ‘Inspiring the World’s Humanity’. Earlier, in the year 2003, the day was designated by UN General Assembly.

Zia Haider Rahman awarded with James Tait Black Award 2015


  • Zia Haider Rahman of Bangladesh awarded with James Tait Black Award for the year 2015 on 19th August 2015 for the novel ‘In the Light of What We Know’. The award was instituted in the year 1919.

‘Vidya Lakshmi’ scheme launched to help students get education loans


  • The portal namely ‘Vidya Lakshmi’ launched on 15th August 2015 by the Government of India. Under the scheme, students get education loans.

Lahaul and Spiti will receive highest CNG station


  • Lahaul and Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh will get World’s highest CNG stations in the next year 2016 as announced on 20th August 2015.
