- Rajiv Gandhi Illuminating Scheme for Hill Town Advancement (RISHTA) project launched on 20th August 2015 by the State Government of Himachal Pradesh. The scheme is also known as Centralized Control and Monitoring System (CCMS).

- Babasaheb Purandare awarded with Maharashtra Bhushan Award for the year 2015 on 19th August 2015 as the ceremony attended by Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao. The award was established in the year 1995.

- The Bollywood film ‘Phantom’ banned by Lahore High Court on 20th August 2015 and also banned the sale of CDs etc. Earlier, Agent Vinod and Ek Tha Tiger were also banned.
FIPIC Summit held at Jaipur, Rajasthan
- On 21st August 2015 2nd edition of Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) Summit held by 14 Pacific Island nations at Jaipur, Rajasthan. 1st edition was held at Fiji in the last year.

- On 19th August 2015, India removed the country Iran from its list of countries who put under the restricted visa category or Prior Referral Category (PRC)
