  • Girish Sahni appointed as Director General of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on 24th August 2015.

RGI released the communities based census data 


  • According to the data released by Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, the present religious communities based on Census 2011 is that Hindu – 79.8 %, Muslim – 14.2%, Christian – 2.3%, Sikh – 1.7%, Buddhist – 0.7%, Jain – 0.4%, Others – 0.7%. There is 0.2% (29 Lakh) people who not stated their religions.

‘Sehat’ scheme launched


  • The scheme namely ‘Sehat’ launched by the Government of India on 25th August 2015 with the aim to provide healthcare facilities in rural areas.

Andhra Pradesh signed an agreement with Sir Dorabji Tata Trust


  • The State Government of Andhra Pradesh signed an agreement with Sir Dorabji Tata Trust on 24th August 2015 to develop almost 264 villages of Vijayawada District. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is N. Chandrababu Naidu.

School Sports Promotion Foundation launched by SAI


  • School Sports Promotion Foundation launched by Sports Authority of India (SAI) on 24th August 2015 with the aim to tap the sporting talent at the school level.

Change the World List released by Fortune


  • Change the World List released by Fortune Magazine on 20th August 2015. According to the list, Vodafone of UK and Safaricom of Kenya jointly ranked at No.1 position while Google and Toyota ranked at No.2 and 3 respectively.
