Amalendu Krishna won Ramanujan Prize 2015
- Amalendu Krishna, the famous mathematician won Ramanujan Prize for the year 2015 on 3rd August 2015. He became 2nd Indian who won the award the first one was Sujatha Ramadorai who won the award in the year 2006 earlier.
UPTU renamed as APJAKTU
- UP Technical University renamed as A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University on 04th August 2015 as approved by the State Cabinet of Uttar Pradesh.
70th anniversary of dropping of first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan observed
- 70th anniversary of dropping of first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan on 06th August 2015 in which 1,40000 people killed while on 09th August 1945, another atomic bomb dropped in Nagasaki, Japan in which 70,000 people killed. This bomb also called as ‘Fat Man’.

- The biggest telescope of India ‘Multi-Application Solar Telescope’ (MAST) inaugurated on 04th August 2015 at Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Tirumala Venkateshwara Temple opened its Demat account
- Tirumala Venkateshwara Temple, Andhra Pradesh (also known as Tirupati Balaji Temple) opened its Dematerialized Account (Demat Account) to accept the donations from devotees in the shape of shares and securities. The temple opened the account with Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL).
Navachara Kaksh opened
- The Science and Innovation Museum ‘Navachara Kaksh’ opened in Rashtrapati Bhavan on 04th August 2015 as inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee. Navachara Kaksh means that ‘Room of New Ideas’.

- The new car namely ‘S-Cross’ launched by Maruti Suzuki on 05th August 2015 which will be sale under the scheme ‘Nexa’ recently launched by the company.
