- World Food Day observed on 16th October 2015 under the theme ‘Social Protection and Agriculture’. Firstly, the day was celebrated in 1981.
Supreme Court allowed the voluntary use of Aadhaar Card for four schemes
- Supreme Court allowed the voluntary use of Aadhaar Card for four schemes i.e. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, scheme related to Pension and PF.
Pakistan signed an agreement with Russia for 1100 km gas pipeline project

- Pakistan signed an agreement with Russia for 1100 km gas pipeline project on 15th October 2015 lies from Lahore to Karachi. The project will complete by December 2017. Earlier, both the countries signed the defence deal also.
TRAI made mandatory to compensate for call drops

- From 01st January, 2016, each telecom company will compensate to consumer Rs.1 for call drops as made mandatory by TRAI on 16th October 2015 as per the 9th amendment. The Chairman of TRAI is Ram Sewak Sharma.
Jharkhand signed an agreement with Gail India Ltd.

- Jharkhand signed an agreement with Gail India Ltd. on 15th October 2015 to create gas and city gas distribution infrastructure of Urja Ganga Jagdishpur-Haldia Pipeline.
Rameswaram will be developed under AMRUT Project

- Rameswaram, the birth place of Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 15th October 2015 included as 498th town under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). Total 500 cities selected to be developed under AMRUT Project.
‘My Brick My Amaravati’ launched by Andhra Pradesh

- The scheme titled as ‘My Brick My Amaravati’ launched by Andhra Pradesh on 15th October 2015 under each citizen invited to purchase e-bricks for Rs.10 each. CM will be laid the foundation of the capital ‘Amaravati’ lies between Vijayawada and Guntur.
Indian Railways will get electricity from open market

- For the first time, Indian Railways will get electricity from open market as announced on 15th October 2015. North Central Railways became 1st to purchase electricity under an agreement with Adani Power Ltd. ADL will supply 50 mw power at Rs.3.69 per unit for the next 3 years.
