IBPS RRB Result : Confusions Solved

Published on Friday, October 16, 2015
IBPS has released RRB Officers and Assistant score cards(check here). Many students are confused with total marks, passing marks and cutoff. Today I am going to clarify all the doubts.
IBPS RRB

Analysis of Above Confusion as under:

What is Cutoff ?

  • OA General 118.19
  • OA OBC  118.19
(Yes, Same for General and OBC)
  • OS General 109.25
  • OS OBC 104.06

It means the students who got these marks or above these marks has also clear every section and they all will be invite for interview.

Then what is Passing marks 80 and 80+

  • It is total weighted cutoff for both General and OBC.
  • If you scored less than 80 marks that means you failed whether you have cleared sectional cutoff or not.
  • But if you scored more than 80 but less than 118.19 (for OA) or 109.25 (general for OS), that means you cleared passing marks but you didn't make it to list of selected candidates (total number of vacancies × 3on whose result "Congratulations" is written.
  • What is the Benefit of  being pass if you not selected for interview? - Nothing
  • By now you can understand that only (total number of vacancies × 3) candidates are invited for the interviews.

Total Marks

Analysis about total mistake
  • 1.25 weightage is given to Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. Add these marks and multiply these scores with 1.25
  • Now multiply the marks of computer with 0.5
  • Add all these calculation, total will be come

How Does Normalization Possible

Normalization process of your marks
  • Normalization process is performed for every exam session based on performace of all the candidates appeared
  • An Average taken from toppers of that session.
  • and your real marks are normalized by that proportion.
