As preliminary exam isn't that hard to crack, one can easily able to crack this exam with preparations of 2 months only. As thise exams not only meant to test the knowledge but also time management skills .

From this year IBPS has introduced the concept of Tier 1(Preliminary) and Tier 2(Mains) in PO and Clerk exams to screen the candidates .

Why IBPS has introduced this concept and how we approach Pre and Mains exam ?

The main aim of IBPS in introducing this system is to ensure only well deserving candidates reach the interview stage and there is no randomness in the selection .Tier 1(Pre) is of qualifying nature and its marks not add up in merit list where as Tier 2(Mains) marks add up in final merit list ,so to get final selection clearing both exams and interview is necessary .

In this, English can be scoring section as one can attempt maximum questions in less time which can be invested in other two sections. I am suggesting you to read a English newspaper daily.

In Quantitative Aptitude ,one can find more questions based on simplification , one has to be very quick in calculations part, learn short cuts, try to learn mathematical tables up to 30x30, square of number up to 300, square root up to 100,cube root up to 30.By learning all this you will able to save lot of time in quantitative part as you don’t have to use pen and paper to do calculations .

Don’t go for very puzzling questions in logical reasoning sections at first .As there are about 5-6 questions that may be very puzzling ,leave these questions and only attempt these questions in the last.

Degree of Accuracy is the key to success, to achieve high accuracy try to solve one MODEL paper daily Time management is also very important in competition exams ,don’t spend too much time on one section ,keep in mind how much time you will devote to each section. If you able to attempt 60 questions out of 100 with high degree of accuracy that is considered as good attempt and chances of qualifying first stage will be very high .

It is expected that difficulty level in IBPS clerk mains exam will be  some  what’s  higher than preliminary exam ,so one should start preparing for those sections simultaneously which are not coming in preliminary exam. Marks scored in mains add up to final merit list , so degree of accuracy along with high attempt rate is important .

For General Awareness and current affairs must read news paper daily like The Hindu ,Indian Express  and follow bankexamstoday.com  current affairs section daily .
