Delhi’s Khan Market ranked India's costliest retail location


Delhi's upscale Khan Market has been ranked as the most expensive retail location in India, according to real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield. Further, Khan Market has emerged as the world’s 28th most expensive retail location. Notably, New York’s Upper 5th Avenue has been ranked the world’s most expensive retail location.

Bengaluru witnesses 'Pride Parade' to support LGBT community 

On the occasion of International Day of Transgender Remembrance on November 20, several people took part in the 'Namma Pride Parade,' in support of the LGBT community in Bangalore. 
The 'Pride Parade' was organised as a solidarity act across the entire LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual) community and emphasised on the intolerance of growing transphobia.

Pankaj Patel elected as FICCI President for 2017

Pankaj Patel, chairman and managing director of Cadila Healthcare, has been elected as the President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) for 2017.
 Patel is also on the advisory committees and academic councils of several educational institutions. He will take over from Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group, during the next FICCI annual general meeting.

Padma Vibhushan awardee musician M Balamuralikrishna dies 

Padma Vibhushan awardee musician M Balamuralikrishna, aged 86, passed away in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. 
He started learning music at the age of three and has composed over 400 songs in different languages including Sanskrit, Kannada and Tamil. Balamuralikrishna received several awards including the Padma Shri and Knights of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.

Sunny Leone on BBC's list of 100 most influential women 2016 


Bollywood actress and former porn star Sunny Leone has featured on the 'BBC 100 Women 2016', a list of the most influential and inspirational women this year. The 35-year-old actress made her Bollywood debut with the 2012 film 'Jism 2'. Sunny has been part of campaigns for organisations like PETA India and American Cancer Society.

India successfully test-fires Agni-I ballistic missile 

India successfully test-fired indigenously built nuclear-capable intermediate range Agni-I ballistic missile on Tuesday from a mobile launcher from Odisha coast.
 The surface-to-surface missile, powered by solid propellants and equipped with a sophisticated navigation system, has a 700-km target range. The 15-metre-long and 12-tonne heavy missile has already been inducted into Indian Armed Forces. 


Kohli enters top 5 in Test batsmen rankings for 1st time 

India's Test skipper Virat Kohli has moved up nine places to a career-best fourth rank in the latest ICC Test batsmen rankings. He averages 69 in Tests and 84.33 across all formats this year, scoring 2277 runs in 37 innings. Moreover, Kohli is ranked at the top spot in T20I batsmen rankings and second in ODI batsmen rankings.

Indian Master Receives 2016 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea 

Captain Radhika Menon is the first female captain in the Indian Merchant Navy and the first female to receive the IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea.
Captain Menon was nominated for the award by the Government of India, for her great determination and courage in leading the difficult rescue operation to save all seven fishermen from the fishing boat Durgamma.
The boat was adrift following engine failure and loss of anchor in severe weather. Food and water had been washed away and they were surviving on ice from the cold storage.
