2 weeks IBPS PO study plan

Published on Friday, October 11, 2013
IBPS PO 2013 is coming closer and students are very nervous to face an online test. Dozens of students are asking same question again and that how to prepare for IBPS PO in this two weeks. Most of the students have prepared for basics but still they are weak in English section. Many students haven't prepared for banking awareness and computer section at all. So for all of these students I am writing down last minute tips :-

1) Revise grammar

Most of the students don't prepare for English section. Main reason behind this is there is no particular book or specific syllabus for this section as it is available for other sections. My English is also very weak but before appearing IBPS PO 2012, I gone though one basic grammar book, namely Grammar in Use. It took me 4 days to complete this book. I felt improvement in my English usage. Level of questions in IBPS 2012 was beginner. Anybody with knowing grammar fundamentals can easily score 35+ in English section.

2) Find shortcut tricks to solve questions quickly

This is a well known fact that it is impossible to attempt 200 questions in 120 minutes accurately. You need to find tricks and shortcuts to solve questions quickly. I have shared few tricks in quantitative aptitude section in my previous posts. I that would be beneficial for all.

3) Read 2-3 monthly magazines

Banking awareness is an important part of IBPS PO exam, but it is avoided by most of the candidates. Reason behind this is lack of study material and specific syllabus. I strongly recommend India book and online magazines. You can buy hard copies or read magazines online. I recommend India today, DNA, Business World. It is better to read online because it will prepare you appear for an online exam.

4) Practice online tests

There are endless free online tests available on Internet. Go to Testibps.com for free tests. They provides dozens of free tests to students.

6) Download computer ebook and read it

Students also avoid preparation for computer section. Although only 20 marks are allotted to this section but due to sectional cutoffs you need to get minimum marks in this section. I have already provided two ebooks in the study material section. Download computer section study material.

7) Practice few data interpretation questions

In IBPS PO exam there are at least 3 question sets of data interpretation. That means these data interpretation sets carries 15 marks. To reach TWSS score of 35 you need to score just 20 marks. It is wise to prepare for data interpretation sets and while appearing for exam spend at least 10 minutes on each set to increase accuracy.
