Now a lets face a fact, last year 17 lac candidates appeared for 1400 jobs. It is expected that about 20 lacs candidates will appear for SBI PO 2014. High scoring candidates got the jobs via IBPS PO. Now your preparation strategy in these few weeks can make or break your chance.

Exam Strategy

Data analysis and data interpretation

Most important thing to crack this section is - Calculation speed.

Almost everybody can solve this section but only a few of them can it quickly. Most of you use pen-paper mode for practice and don't track your timing. This is a blunder. Time management is the most important. Join an online test series. I recommend Testpanda.com

If you always try to find the exact answer to each question. Then think again.

Use estimation techniques while solving charts and graphs questions. I have shared this technique here.

English

Have you studied in a Hindi medium or local language school? If yes then I am also one of you.

It doesn't matter how weak you are in the English language. All you need is speed reading and practice. I am making an assumption that you are an average student and able to understand English newspapers and TV channels. If not, then its time to work on basics.

Here is the detailed Study Guide for English section.

Most common question types:-

  • Reading comprehensions
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Vocabulary
  • Para jumbles (Skip these questions as they are time-consuming)
  • Finding grammatical errors

Reasoning

Reasoning is the most time-consuming section. Most of the candidates fail due to this section. Ask yourself, how much time do you devote to this section?

It's very easy to prepare for this section. Similar questions are repeated in every exam. I have shared a few important questions here.

Common question types in Reasoning

  • Sitting arrangement questions (Linear)
  • Round table sitting arrangement questions
  • Syllogism
  • Data sufficiency
  • Logical reasoning
