SBI PO Preliminary Exam - Machine Input Output Questions

In view of upcoming SBI PO preliminary exam, MACHINE INPUT OUTPUT type questions are very important and need careful understanding. Here in this post I will explain easy method of solving such questions. There is a particular hint in every machine based input output questions which if cracked will make the question very easy to solve. Follow the example for better understanding:

Input output

A number arrangement machine, when give an input of words, rearrange the numbers in a particular manner step by step as given below till all the given words are arranged in a particular order.

INPUT:  day step amiss up to block inside
Step 1: amiss day step upto block inside
Step 2: amiss block day step upto inside
Step 3: amiss block day inside step upto
Step 3 is the last step for this input of words

Methodology:

 Step 1:
In this step, select the word starting with a letter which appears in the dictionary first and place in the beginning of the sentence leaving other words unchanged, hence in step 1 the word amiss has been placed in the first position

Step 2:
 In step 2, select the word starting with a letter which appears at second position in the dictionary and place the word at the second position of the sentence leaving other words unchanged

Step 3:
Select the word starting with a letter which appears at the third position in dictionary and place the word at the third position of the sentence leaving other words unchanged.

In step 3 we get all the words arranged in order of their position in the dictionary

Hence step 3 is out last step
