Series is a set of numbers in a particular sequence formulated by particular method or logic or operations could be possible in a conventional or non conventional way forming a sequence of order
and to find it's wrong or missing number from a preceding number one need to follow that specific method logic or sequence which is used in others.
 
Series of order 
The series made through adding or subtracting a number in which each successive number is obtained through adding or subtracting method is called arithmetic series.
For Eg.
5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20...
20, 30, 40, 50, 60...
235, 116, -3, -116 ...
35, 70, 105, 145, 175, 210, 245...

series

the series made through multiplying or dividing each number number to form a next number or successive number.
