rbi grade b

One of my readers once shared her interview experience. She told me that many candidates were from IIMs. There was an in-depth interview (not like IBPS at all). There are lot of perks and career takes a big leap.

It's time to start preparations for RBI Grade B. Mark my words - This is only possible entry to RBI. I recommend RBI Assistant over IBPS PO. Now you can judge yourself the brand value of "RBI".

General Awareness

I am picking important topics based on trends of both recent exams and previous RBI papers so you don't need to go through all the papers to extract topics to read.
  • RBI (Read a lot about RBI)
  • Cabinet ministers and their constituencies (Read constituencies of all popular MPs of opposition)
  • Government welfare schemes (Mudra, Ujala etc)
  • Banking terms
  • Countries and their currencies
  • Current affairs for last 6 months (Read events related to financial institutions carefully)
  • States of India - CM, Governor and latest events related to the state
  • Dams, National parks, Thermal power plants, Nuclear power plant
  • National parks, Places of historical and geographical importance
  • International issues (China Sea issue, NSG, ADB, Meets and conferences etc)
  • International reports and indexes. India's rank in various reports
  • International organizations - Their heads, head-offices and
  • Important days
  • Popular sports-persons and sports events
  • Initiatives by RBI (Payment banks etc.)
  • Banks - Their heads and headquarters
  • Sports organizations - Their heads, headquarters and establishment year
  • International organizations - Their heads, headquarters, number of member countries, events and updates
  • Working and events of RBI and it's subsidiaries
  • Names of Airports in India and popular airports around the world
  • Folk dances and regional festivals

I will provide two special GK Digests for RBI Grade B. Stay updated.

Quantitative Aptitude

Data Interpretation

Last year there were two Data Interpretation sets. One was from missing table and another was double diagram graph. Download DI Workbook. Solve all the DI questions from both workbooks

Arithmetic

There will be questions from :-
  • Time and work
  • Time and distance
  • Age problems
  • Percentage
  • Ratios proportions
  • Profit and Loss
  • Partnership
  • Boats and streams
  • Probability
  • Permutation and combinations
Follow Quantitative Aptitude Guide here

I highly recommend you to Quantitative Aptitude Made Easy or any other good book available in the market. Avoid RS Aggarwal's book as it is outdated and not been updated since many years.

Series

Last year there were 5 simple questions from Series, it's easy to solve series questions. Do not skip this chapter at all.

You need to find a pattern in questions. It's the easiest part of whole exam.

English

Many people says that it's impossible to improve your English score within a span of 25-30 days. According to me, It's Possible!

How?

3 Steps

  1. Read Grammar rules
  2. Read a newspaper or any book (for speed reading and making reading long paragraphs comfortable)
  3. Practise all type of questions

That's it.

While reading Grammar rules, don't just mug up the notes. Try to use the grammar rules in day to day life. I still make silly grammar mistakes while writing articles. Everybody commit similar mistakes. Try to control such mistakes by implementing the basic grammar rules.

Take a print out of Grammar Notes.

Don't like mine ? No problem. Buy Grammar book by Murphy or buy Oxford Grammar book. In short buy any grammar book which you can understand easily.

Read anything that seems to be interesting for you. Like Filmfare, Automag or anything according to your taste, just go for it.

Practise at least 50 Reading Comprehensions (Download Workbook)

Reasoning

Reasoning is an easy section if we remove Puzzles part from it. People with sharp brain will learn a lot with this line.

Important topics for Reasoning

  • Statements and Conclusions
  • Puzzle test
  • Coding and decoding
  • Input-output
  • Classification
  • Analogy
  • Series test
  • Seating arrangement (Facing inside outside)
  • Statements and Assumptions

My first exam tip - Never attempt Reasoning section at first.

Most of my intelligent students who failed in the exams, stuck at this section during exam. This is the response from most of those intelligent students :-

Sir saara time to wo inside outside wali puzzle mei hi lag gaya
