  1. Countries at the bottom: Burundi is ranked at 150th with a value of 9.0, Chad is ranked at 151st with a value of 8.5, while Niger is ranked at 152nd with the value of 5.4 in the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) E-commerce Index 2019.
  2. It is evident from the report that in the year 2017, the total online shoppers in India were 11 % and from the total population, Internet shoppers were 3%.
  3. Out of the top 10 spots, European countries have secured 8 & while there are Singapore (ranked at 3rd ) and Australia (ranked at 10th) as non-European nations in the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) E-commerce Index 2019.
  4. There is a total of 152 nations which have been included in the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) E-commerce Index 2019. These countries have been ranked based on various factors.
  5. According to the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) E-commerce Index 2019 report, a quarter of the world’s population whose age was 15 years and more, had shopped online in the year 2017. This was approximately 12 % more than that of the year 2016.
  6. In developing countries, the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) E-commerce Index 2019 report focuses on the improvement of the reliability.
  7. Due to an increase in the penetration of the internet, there has been much growth of the industry. As a result of more and more access to the internet, many people and new users all over the globe are choosing to shop online.   • The Indian e-commerce industry is likely to increase by leaps and bounds and will surpass the e-commerce industry in the US. India is set to become the second-largest e-commerce Global market by the year 2034.
  • The total shoppers in India who shop online are expected to reach a whopping 220 million by the year 2025.
