  • The World Energy Outlook 2019 is the report which has been released by the International Energy Agency (IEA). The report gives a clear pen picture of the future of the potentials of energy related emissions. It also provides a detailed road map which happens to portray the consequences pertaining to the investment choices in the various resources of energy. The report of World Energy Outlook 2019 shows the updates on fuel options, as well as technology, which is mainly based on the trends of cost as well as market data.
  • The Report predicts that the total installed solar power will increase by 3,142 GW by the year 2040 on a global basis.

Major Highlights of the World Energy Outlook 2019

  • Demands for oil on a global scale, is set to reduce after the year 2025. Moreover, more and more people will prefer electric vehicles over petrol and diesel ones.
  • The report also claimed that there will be a rise in the demand of oil and that 855 of such demands will be sourced from the US itself.   • Current Policy Scenario: As evident in the World Energy Outlook 2019 report, if we continue to function and stick to the old regulations, our energy demand will increase at the rate of 1.3% by the year 2040.
  • Stated Policy Scenario:- According to this, there will be rise in the energy demand by 1% on an annual basis with the new policies that have been formulated and executed by the governments all over the globe.
  • Sustainable Development Scenario:- The World Energy Outlook 2019 report clearly points out that there will be a drop of 1.5 degree Celsius in the global temperature if we stick to the norms of the Paris Agreement.
