Post Basic Qualification Work Experience

Local Bank Officer  JMGS-I

 

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

Work experience* of 18 months or more in Officer cadre in any Public Sector

Bank/ Regional Rural Bank on regular basis.

Note: Experience in NBFCs, Cooperative banks, private banks, payment banks, small finance banks or fintechs will not be considered.

  • All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a recognized University/ Institute/ Board recognized by Govt. of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies.

Bond amount shall be equivalent to 3 months’ gross salary (initial basic+ DA as on date of resignation+ Special allowance+ DA on Special allowance) in respective Officer Scale.

  • Selected candidates must sign a service bond to serve the Bank for a minimum period from their joining date.
  • They must also provide one surety of equal amount, acceptable to the Bank, in the prescribed format before joining.

Credit History

  • The candidate applying shall ensure that, they maintain a healthy Credit history and shall have a minimum CIBIL score of 650 or above at the time of joining. CIBIL Report drawn from Bank (where candidate is holding their account) to be submitted at time of Document Verification.

Scale Of Pay & Other Facilities

  • Pay Scale (JMGS‑I): ₹48,480 – 2,000/7 – 62,480 – 2,340/2 – 67,160 – 2,680/7 – 85,920
  • LBOs Joining Pay: JMGS‑I scale + 3 increments (as per Joint Note at recruitment)
  • Qualification Increments: JAIIB/CAIIB increments protected and adjusted at joining
  • Allowances: DA, HRA/Leased Accommodation, CCA as per rules & posting location
  • Other Benefits: Medical, LTC, terminal benefits, and perquisites as per prevailing rules

Selection & Qualifying Criteria (Key Points)
  • Minimum Marks: 40% (Unreserved/EWS), 35% (Reserved) in each section.
  • Must clear each section + overall cut‑off in online test to qualify for interview.
  • Tie at cut‑off: Higher age candidate ranked above.
  • Final Selection: Based on combined scores of Written Test + Personal Interview.
  • Candidates failing to clear interview will not be considered.
Interview Details: Venue (normally New Delhi), date & time in call letter (sent by email). Candidates attend at own cost.

Local Language Proficiency (Key Points)
  • Mandatory: Reading, writing, and understanding of local language.
  • Test: Conducted for provisionally selected candidates before joining.
  • Disqualification: Failing the test → no appointment.
  • Exemption: Candidates with 10th/12th mark sheet showing the local language as a subject need not take the test.
Final Selection (Key Points)
  • Selection from top‑ranked candidates in merit list (state‑wise & category‑wise) + language test result (if applicable).
  • Must qualify both Written Test & Interview separately.
  • Weightage: Written Test = 70%, Interview = 30%.
Marks Conversion:
  • Written Test (out of 120) → converted to 70 marks
  • Interview (out of 50) → converted to 30 marks
Final Merit List: Prepared state‑wise on total (out of 100) converted marks.
