Directions (Ques 1-5): Read the following sentences, A, B, C, D and E carefully and rearrange them into a coherent paragraph.

(B) News of the discove-ry was published in May 2017 in Phytotaxa, a journal on botanical taxonomy.

(C) Featuring a distinctive translucent spathe, it was last collected by E. Barnes in 1932 and described by C.E.C Fischer in 1933.
(D) Barely a few hundred cobra lily plants are left in the wild and they can be found only in a small area measuring less than 10 square kilometres in the Nilgiris. (E) The incredibly rare Arisaema translucens, more commonly remembered as the cobra lily, was recently rediscover-ed in the western Nilgiris after 84 years.

Solution : E-A-C-B-D

Opening sentence is (E) which tells about the rediscovery of Cobra lily. Then comes the sentence (A) which tells about the discoverers of Cobra lily. Option (C) gives information about the last discoverers of Cobra lily(Barnes and Fischer). Sentence (D) follows (C) which tells about the present location of Cobra lily. Sentence (B) comes at the last and gives information about the journal in which this discovery was published. Position of (B) may create confusion(that it comes after (A) but if we put it after (A) then Sentence (C) will get misplaced.

(A) Tributes to the memory of Raja Ram Mohan Roy have been paid in various parts of the country and they all show how modern Ram Mohan Roy was at the time of his death a hundred years ago.
(B) The secret of this modernity of this great man lies partly in his comprehensive racial outlook and in the intrepid and resolute action that marked his remarkable career touching almost every aspect of life, and partly in the slow progress of events in social and political upheaval for the greater part of the century following his death.

Solution: A-D-B-C-E

Opening sentence is (A) which is about the Tributes given to Raja Ram Mohan Roy. Sentence (D) follows (A) which talks about the modernity of Raja Ram Mohan Roy(same as (A)). Option (B) gives possible reasons behind his modernity. Locating sentence (C) may be difficult but it can only come after the initial introduction of Raja Ram Mohan Roy, as he was the pioneer behind this campaign and Brahmo Samaj Movement. Last sentence (E) tells about the reformers who succeeded Ram Mohan Roy.
