Published on Saturday, December 21, 2013
As many readers are asking me to help them find the right kind of study material, Today I have decided to provide the best 4 books that will be enough to prepare for IBPS Specialist officers exam.

1) Quicker Maths by M.Tyra

I am having this book from last 5 years and this really improved my problem-solving speed manifold. I learned a lot of tricks and techniques from this book. Even the multiplication and squaring technique  I wrote a detailed review about this book in my previous post. I think you should read that here.

2) Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning by RS Aggarwal

Reasoning is the easiest subject in IBPS exam but it is fact that lot of candidates fail in this section. Reason behind this fact is, in exam they see many new question formats, in a hurry they marks wrong answers.

I purchased this book two years back. Although I have already appeared and cracked CAT but still I found that this book helped me to increase my score. A lot of things were new to me such as mirror questions, sitting arrangements. Although the reasoning is a part of CAT, but there are few questions from non-verbal reasoning. It took me 2 weeks to complete this book and now reasoning is the game-changer for me.

This is the must buy book if you wish to increase your score by at least 20%.

3) Question bank for computer (IT Officers)

Many readers asked me about the best book to prepare for professional knowledge section of IT scale I and II. The simple answer to this question is, read your course books and for practice this question bank. By reading this book you will get a taste of how exam questions are. This is an MCQ question bank, this book won't teach you the concepts, so if you want to build concept clarity then read your course books.

4) Objective English by Arihant

Before buying this book I was recommending Objective English by Tata McGrawhill. I never thought to purchase this book as it was available for just Rs 160, I use to have an assumption that all cheap books are of low quality, but I was wrong. This book starts from roots and hep you till you eat the fruit. This book have all kind of questions that you will see in actual exam.

5) Banking Awareness by Arihant

In past I recommended India Book 2013, but readers found it too bulky to read and they don't have time to read it. As this book is primarily meant for Civil Services, candidates who are preparing for IBPS don't this book useful.

General Awareness by Arihant publishers is written for IBPS exam. The best thing about this book is, it is to the point and you will see a similar question in the exam.
