1. Aamir Khan

  • Bollywood Actor, Aamir Khan has become the brand ambassador of online tutoring platform, Vedantu.
  • After being roped in as the ambassador, Vedantu has shot ad films to highlight the pros of the platform.

2. P D Vaghela

  • Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has appointed P D Vaghela as its new chief.
  • Vaghela has been appointed for a term of 3 years or till attaining the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
  • He has succeeded R S Sharma.

3. Amitabh Bachchan

  • The Reserve Bank of India has roped in Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan for its customer awareness campaign.
  • Under the campaign, RBI keeps informing the customers about the do’s and Don’ts for safe transactions.
  • Amitabh Bachchan shared a message for customer awareness on the official twitter handle of RBI- “RBI Says or RBI Kehta Hai”.

4. Meeta Makhan

  • Daily affairs of Laxmi Vilas Bank will be looked by the three-member Committee of Directors (COD) approved by RBI. 
  • Meeta Makhan is the Chairperson of this committee.
  • Other two members are- Shakti Sinha and Satish Kumar Kalra.

5. Robin Uttappa

  • Indian Cricketer Robin Uttappa has been roped in as the brand ambassador of Entri app. 
  • Entri app, a Kerala startup, is a local language learning app for jobs.

6. Shivangi Singh

  • Flight Lieutenant Shivangi Singh will become the first female Pilot to fly Rafale aircraft.
  • Shivangi was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 2017.
  • At present, she is flying MiG-21 Bison and soon will be the first women pilot to fly Rafale.
  • She hails from Varanasi.

7. Uday Kotak

  • Uday Kotak has got an extension of 1 year as the head of lender IL&FS. 
  • Notice of extension was released by the Department of Financial Services in the Ministry of Finance.
  • Uday is the Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank.

8. Mohamed Hussein Roble

  • Mohamed Hussein Roble has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Somalia. 
  • He has succeeded Hassan Ali Khaire. 

9. Jineth Bedoya Lima

  • Jineth Bedoya Lima has been honoured with the Golden Pen Freedom Award 2020.
  • The award is given by the World Association of News Publishers.
  • Jineth is a Columbian Journalist and has been awarded for her contribution towards promoting and protecting women rights.

10. Khushi Chindaliya

  • 17-year old girl from Gujarat, Khushi Chindaliya has been appointed as the Regional Ambassador for India by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) – Tunza Eco-Generation (TEG).
  • She will be working with TEG until February 2021.

11. Aleksandr G. Lukashenko

  • Aleksandr G. Lukashenko was sworn in as the President of Belarus for the 6th time.
  • He took oath in a secret ceremony.

12. Bah Ndaw

  • Bah Ndaw has been appointed as the interim president of Mali.
  • He will hold the post until the new president in appointed.

13. Harsh Kumar Bhanwala

  • Former NABARD Chairman Harsh Kumar Bhanwala has been appointed as the head of a technical committee on the social stock exchange.
  • This committee will develop up a structure for onboarding profit and non-profit organisations on such bourses and recommend disclosure requirements relating to financials and governance.
  • The committee will also provide requirements for aspects related to social audit and social impact.

14. Narendra Modi

  • Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded the Ig Nobel Prize for 2020 by Annals of Improbable Research Magazine.
  • He has been awarded the award for his contribution to medical education.
  • Also, Modi became the second Indian prime minister to receive this award.

15. Anil Dhasmana

  • Anil Dhasmana has been appointed as the new chief of the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO).
  • NTRO is the country's technical body responsible for geospatial intelligence and satellite imagery.
  • Dhasmana is a former Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) chief.

16. Udit Singhal

  • An 18-year teenager from India, Udit Singhal has been named to the 2020 Cohort of Young Leaders for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by the United Nations.
  • Singhal has been named to the class of 17 young leaders.
  • Singhal is a founder of Glass2Sand which prevents empty glass bottles from being dumped into landfills.

17. Vikas Khanna

  • Famous Chef Vikas Khanna has been awarded the 2020 Asia Game Changer Award.
  • He has been awarded for providing food millions across India during the pandemic COVID-19.
  • The award is given by the Asia Society to honour true leaders.

18. Yoshihide Suga

  • Yoshihide Suga has been appointed as the new prime minister of Japan.
  • He has succeeded Shinzo Abe who resigned due to health issues.

19. Aditya Puri

  • Managing Director of HDFC Bank, Aditya Puri has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Euromoney Awards of Excellence 2020.
  • He has been awarded for his career in banking and building a world-class bank.

20. Rajesh Khullar

  • Rajesh Khullar has been appointed as the Executive Director of World Bank.
  • Khullar is a 1988 batch IAS officer.
  • At present, he is the principal secretary to chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
  • He will join World Bank in November 2020.

21. Sameer Kumar Khare

  • Sameer Kumar Khare has been appointed as the Executive Director of Asian Development Bank (ADB).
  • He is an IAS officer of 1989 batch, Assam cadre. 
  • He has been appointed for a term of 3 years.

22. Sachin Tendulkar

  • Legendary Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Paytm First Games.
  • It is a subsidiary of Paytm.
  • Sachin will create awareness about fantasy sports.

23. Paresh Rawal

  • Actor and former Member of Parliament, Paresh Rawal has been appointed as the Chairman of National School of Drama (NSD).
  • He has been appointed by President Ram Nath Kovind.
  • He has succeeded Ratan Thiyam.

24. Ayushmann Khurrana

  • Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has been appointed as UNICEF’s celebrity advocate for promoting child rights through "ForEveryChild".
  • Ayushmann will work for ending violence against children.

25. Anil Jain

  • Anil Jain has been appointed as the new president of the All India Tennis Association (AITA).
  • Anil is a BJP Rajya Sabha member.

26. Sir David Attenborough

  • Sir David Attenborough has been awarded the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize.
  • He is a British Broadcaster.
  • He was awarded by former Indian PM Manmohan Singh.

27. Aveek Sarkar

  • Aveek Sarkar has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Press Trust of India (PTI).
  • PTI is the premier news agency of India.

28. S Krishnan

  • S Krishnan has been appointed as the new MD & CEO of Punjab & Sind Bank.
  • His appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
  • Before this, he was Executive Director at Canara Bank.
  • He will replace S Harishankar.

29. VK Yadav

  • VK Yadav became the first CEO of Indian Railways after the approval of cabinet for the restructuring of Railway Board.
  • His appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
