Manager - Branch Management

Age Minimum 23 years and maximum 33 years as on 01.08.2026
Education Graduation in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government
Total Experience 3 years as an Officer in a Scheduled Public Sector Bank or Scheduled Private Sector Bank
Branch Banking Experience Minimum 2 years
Preferred Experience Experience as a Scale-I Branch Head
Probation Minimum 6 months from the date of joining, subject to Officers' Service Regulation

Job Profile

Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India and will be placed as Branch Head after completion of probation.

As this is the only generalist officer post in the notification, the Professional Knowledge paper covers broad banking subjects rather than a narrow specialisation.

Example: An officer with 3 years of experience in a private scheduled bank, including 2 years handling branch operations and advances, is eligible. Three years spent entirely at a corporate office desk would not satisfy the branch banking experience requirement.

Manager - Credit

Educational Qualification Bachelor's degree with MBA Finance, PGDBA, PGDBM, MMS Finance, Chartered Accountant or Cost Management Accountant
Total Experience 3 years post-qualification experience in a Bank or Financial Institution
Credit Experience Minimum 2 years in the credit domain
Preferred Experience MSME or Corporate Advances
Probation 1 year of active service

Preferred Certifications

  • Certificate course in Trade Finance from IIBF or an institution of repute
  • Certificate course in Corporate Lending
  • Certificate course in Risk Management
  • Financial Risk Manager, FRM
  • JAIIB / CAIIB

These certifications are preferred rather than mandatory, but they may carry weight during the interview.

Example: A CA with 3 years of experience at a credit desk, including at least 2 years appraising MSME proposals, can satisfy the qualification and experience requirements described in the notification.
