X : Y = 6:5

Total profit = 26400 ( its equal to 6+5 = 11parts)

11 parts ---------- 26400

6 parts ----------- ?

X profit share = (26400*6)/11 =14400

## Ques 9.

Out of 8 consonants and 4 vowels, how many words of 4 consonants and 2 vowels can be formed?

**Solution :**

Number of ways of selecting 4 consonants from 8

= 8C4

Number of ways of selecting 2 vowels from 4

= 4C2

Number of ways of selecting 4 consonants from 8 and 2 vowels from 4

= 8C4 × 4C2 = 420

It means we can have 420 groups where each group contains total 6 letters (4 consonants and 2 vowels) .

Number of ways of arranging 6 letters among themselves

Hence, required number of ways

= 6! = 6×5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 720

Hence, required number of ways = 720 * 420 = 302400
