    • Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has overhauled rules for extending loans to directors of other banks and relatives of directors. As per the amendments, the central bank has allowed banks to extend personal loans up to Rs. 5 crores to directors of other banks and directors' relatives other than spouses without board approval. The earlier limit for such loans was Rs. 25 lakh.

    • The PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) was launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on June 01, 2020 for providing affordable Working Capital loans to street vendors to resume their livelihoods that have been adversely affected due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

  • Limitation of documents
    • The object of the Law of Limitation is to prescribe the period within which rights under the documents can be enforced in the Court of Law. The period of limitation for filing a suit for the recovery of money in case of certain common documents is as under:

i. Recovery of loss caused by fraud 3 years from date of detection of fraud
j. Appeal to file in High Court against the judgment of lower court 90 days from the date of the decree
k. Appeal to file in other court against the judgment of lower court 30 days from date of decree

  • Non-performing Assets :
  • A nonperforming asset (NPA) is a loan or an advance where;
    • Interest and/or installment of principal remain overdue for a period of more than 90 days in respect of a term loan
    • The account remains 'out of order' in respect of an Overdraft/Cash Credit (OD/CC)
    • The bill remains overdue for a period of more than 90 days in the case of bills purchased and discounted
    • The installment of principal or interest thereon remains overdue for two crop seasons for short-duration crops
    • The installment of principal or interest thereon remains overdue for one crop season for long-duration crops
  • Banks should classify an account as NPA only if the interest charged during any quarter is not serviced fully within 90 days from the end of the quarter.
