SBI PO Exam Experience - 21 June Morning Shift by Amrit Pai

Published on Saturday, June 21, 2014
Dear All

I am Amrit Pai from Mumbai. I gave the Sbi Po exam in morning session. The comments and suggestions for Po exam is set out below:
  • Venue was just 1 kms from railway station.
  • The sections were all moderate level except data interpretation
  • DI sections sums was moderate to difficult level. Approx 10- 15 questions was easy you can solve in 12-15 minutes but other problems was moderate and too analytical so to solve this sums it will take too much time..
  • English sections was easy and specially comprehension was from Banking and economy so it was easy to attend it because of the knowledge of banking and economy
  • General Awareness Computers and Marketing section was moderate level. Questions from Economy, Banking and Basic marketing concepts and 2-3 questions was situation type
  • Reasoning questions was easy as well as moderate. Puzzle based questions were jumbled and it will take time to solve
  • I attempted 80 questions since I did for accuracy.

Strategy for SBI 2014

First Di section sums is too lengthy and time consuming. As u all know that minimum cutoff in each section is 12-15 marks but overall in objective the score comes 80 marks. So in DI first attempt that section grab those 15 marks with accuracy those questions you don't know leave it...Once You get these 15 marks you are saved from elimination of DI Sectional Cutoff. Than move on reasoning English and general awareness there you can score at least 22-25 marks and you can achieve overall cutoff. But please dont waste time in DI if you get 15 please leave that section and go ahead
Because this year SBI po di is too different from past years so this strategy should be applied here

Gk questions which I remember

  • MICR
  • Basic Saving Banks Deposit Account
  • Rules of Rbi against banks for interest rates in Savings Account
  • Supercomputer
  • Which Country embassy was banned By US embassy in USA
  • Customer relationship Management
  • Marketing Mix
  • Which is the last book written by Khushwant Singh
  • Indian government presented which awards on Worlds Women day on 8th March
  • What is NECS
  • During CTS process which bank captures the image of cheque
  • Who initiated and started the IMPS

Thanks everyone who shared their previous experiences and I read your questions and not even a single question was repetitive. But, I got the knowledge and it helps you anytime in future..Nothing is wasted. Knowledge is the biggest investment in this universe

I wish everyone for coming bank and competitive exams.
